| Comment: | Saija is spoken in Colombia with a main group of speakers along the Saija river in the Choco department on the Pacific coast. Stops /b,d/, the alveolar flap /r[/and palatal glide /j/ have nasal consonant allophones before nasalized vowels; stops, affricates and /s/ have prenasalized allophones following a nasalized vowel. Vowels occur both long and short and most sequences of unlike vowels also occur. |
